What is Strength-Based Mentoring?

Strengths-based mentoring refers to how effective mentors focus on the strengths of individuals and provide an environment that is positive and supportive. Strengths-based mentors encourage team members to depend on each other’s strengths.

The benefits of individual and team coaching using the StrengthsFinder results are numerous. Simply put, focusing on strengths leads to happier, more engaged, and more productive employees. Gallup’s 50 years of research shows that:

  • People who have the opportunity to use their strengths every day are six times more likely to be engaged on the job.
  • Teams that focus on strengths every day have 12.5% greater productivity.
  • Teams that receive strengths feedback have 8.9% greater profitability.
