2015 was a tough year in Illinois, with political battles putting on hold the restoration of the graphics arts sales tax exemption and manufacturers purchase credit. Get the latest news at the Illinois Sales Tax Focus Forum, to be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at The Millhurst Charhouse in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.

Our presenters will be Andrew Klemens, CPA and Partner with BKD, LLP, and Josh Sharp, Director of Government Relations for the Illinois Press Association. They will discuss anticipated changes on the tax side and where we stand in legislation.

The program will begin at noon with check-in, lunch and networking. The presentation will be from 1-4 p.m., with time for questions.

Zero in on how your company is reporting sales tax: are you correct? What changes may be forthcoming from the Illinois Legislature?

 

About Our Speakers:

Andrew Klemens Andrew Klemens is a partner with BKD, LLP. He provides consulting and tax preparation services for closely held corporations, partnerships and LLCs in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, graphic arts, retail, health care and professional services. Andrew consults on business entity selection and planning, corporate and LLC reorganizations and sale analyses involving sophisticated transactions and structures. His experience also includes individual tax planning, employee benefits, multistate taxation and representation before various taxing authorities including the IRS, Illinois Department of Revenue and the Illinois Department of Employment Security.Andrew is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and volunteers to write CPA exam questions for AICPA. He also is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, where he chairs the partnership subcommittee for the Committee on the Taxation of Flow-through Entities.

 

Josh Sharp Josh Sharp is the director of government relations for the Illinois Press Association. Josh joined the IPA in August 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Prior to joining the IPA Josh served as an intern for the lobbying firm of Filson/Gordon Associates and also worked for the Department of Central Management Services.
