FMLA-UpdateIL

The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was signed into law in 1993 to balance needs of employers and employees in circumstances when employees must take extended medical leaves for serious medical conditions, including pregnancy, or to care for family members.

Many changes have been made to the law over the past several years. GLGA is holding a FMLA Update to help CEOs, Owners and HR Professionals understand the critical issues needed to comply with FMLA regulations.

During the session, the following will be discussed:

  • The importance of written policy and procedures
  • Administration basics.
  • Curbing abuse – intermittent leave issues
  • Reviewing and handling medical certifications
  • FMLA exhaustion – what happens now
  • Questions and answers
