May 29, 2023 — The Great Lakes Graphics Association will hold its annual Graphics Excellence Awards Celebrations on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. The Celebrations are the culmination of the annual GEA competition, which recognizes companies throughout Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin for superb craftsmanship in the design, creation and production of outstanding printed projects they produce for their customers.
Dual sites will have simultaneous Celebrations that evening: the Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee, WI, and a new location in Illinois at the Stonegate Conference Center in Hoffman Estates. The Celebrations start at 4:30 p.m. with an extended networking reception. All of the award-winning projects from more than 100 categories will be on display for attendees to examine and to choose their favorite in the voting for the People’s Choice award.
A formal dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by the presentation of the awards for Women in Print Excellence, Best of Category and Best of Division. The evening culminates with the announcement of the night’s top awards: Best of Show and Runner-Ups, Best of States, Best of Packaging, and People’s Choice winners.
The GEAs competition was judged over two days with a panel of outside graphics experts who brought almost 100 years of collective print, finishing and converting experience to their evaluation of the contenders. There was a wide range of excellent entries including books and catalogs, posters and calendars, labels and tags, wide format, and packaging.
GLGA president Joseph Lyman is extremely proud of the quality of work submitted in the 2023 GEA competition and the results produced from the show. “As one of the largest regional graphic competitions in North America, the GEAs are one of most recognized programs GLGA manages throughout the year,” Lyman said.
“The Graphics Excellence Awards continue to demonstrate just how outstanding the quality of work produced in our region is and the high level of parity there is among printers, finishers and converters located throughout Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin,” Lyman said. “We are extremely proud to represent such outstanding print organizations.”
