Plastic is a highly valuable material with almost infinite end uses and with proper recycling methods and the use of recycled materials, companies can lower both material costs and their overall environmental footprint. Join Andy Brewer, PLASTICS’ associate director of sustainability and recycling, as he discusses the factors driving a more circular economy for plastics and the different recycling methods available today. This session will cover the current policy landscape, industry pledges, consumer perception shaping the recycling industry, and the current technologies used to recycle plastics.

About our presenter:
Andy Brewer is the associate director of sustainability & recycling at the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS). He leads the association’s efforts in advocating for the growth of sustainability in the plastics industry by managing the PLASTICS Recycling Committee, promoting recycling development through the New End Market Opportunities Program, and managing the Zero Net Waste recognition program. Andy joined plastics in September of 2020 and prior to that he worked six years as a program manager in injection molding. Andy graduated from the University of Dayton in 2015 with a degree in Global Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
