Job Title: Bindery Operator
Location: Delzer Printing LLC
Job Type: Full Time
Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Operate machinery for folding, cutting, collating, stitching, and trimming printed materials.
Setup & Calibration: Set up and calibrate bindery equipment according to work orders and job specifications.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on bindery equipment to ensure smooth operation.
Quality Control: Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, identifying any defects or irregularities.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical issues or problems that arise during the binding process.
Material Handling: Lift and move heavy materials up to 40 pounds, including paper stock and finished products, and operate related equipment.
Work Area Management: Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, following all relevant safety rules and regulations.
Documentation: Read work orders and follow instructions to meet production requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills and technical knowledge to operate and maintain equipment.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and catch product defects.
Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure efficient workflow.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, and work in a noisy environment.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to machinery and the production process.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with others as part of a production team.
Safety Awareness: Strong knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a production setting.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; trade or vocational school experience is often preferred.
Experience: Previous experience working with bindery machines is a strong asset.
