Making and Documenting Waste Determinations

Mark your calendar for the third webinar in our 2019 Quarterly Environmental Update series. Waste determinations are not limited to just hazardous waste. State and federal regulations require that you make “adequate” waste determinations on any industrial waste generated by your facility. Join SCS’s Cheryl Moran for a discussion of what you need to know to navigate the waste determination process and learn what documentation inspectors will want to see.

About the Presenter:

Cheryl Moran is a Project Manager with SCS Engineers with more than 20 years of experience in the printing industry. She is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and works with air, water, and waste management, EPCRA, environmental compliance audits, and sustainability programs.

Date:
Thursday, August 1, 2019

Time:
11:00 a.m. Eastern / 10:00 a.m. Central

Cost:
FREE for GLGA members. Not-yet-members: $39 per Internet connection (you may have multiple people sit in on one connection.)

Identifying Applicable Requirements Under a ROPC

Printers can get many benefits from the Type C Registration Permit (ROPC). Benefits include flexibility to construct, less frequent monitoring and recordkeeping requirements, and lower administrative costs. But there is a downside to a ROPC. The permit does not list all the federal and state air pollution requirements that apply to a facility. In this presentation, you’ll learn how to identify applicable requirements that are not outlined in the ROPC. Join SCS Engineers’ Mark Hammers to get a better understanding of how to identify which requirements apply to your facility.

About the Presenter:

Mark Hammers is a staff engineer with SCS Engineers. Mark recently transitioned to SCS Engineers from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, where he spent five years as an Air Management Engineer writing operation and construction permits, conducting inspections, and helping facilities demonstrate compliance with air regulations. Mark’s background also includes water quality permitting; environmental recordkeeping, reporting, and monitoring programs; and hazardous waste management.
