2016 GRAPHICS EXCELLENCE AWARDS BEST OF SHOW

LCP

Sponsored by:

What the Judges Said – In my mind, LCP has produced a lithographic handbook designed as a calendar.  Each month features a visual feast of extraordinary color, and a post-press technique that enhances each picture or photograph. As many as 12 different substrates are employed and then married into a brilliant presentation.  Is it a calendar?  YES

What the Judges Said – If ink had the capability of creating sultry, smoky visual experiences, the Trends I Booklet would be the benchmark. It’s obvious that the printer and designer had intense synergy as they worked to create this piece.  We could not find a single blemish and the pages blended seamlessly together.  Ink placement was perfect, as was the bindery.  The cover design was the ideal complement to the pages inside. Faucets simply never looked so good!

SECOND RUNNER-UP

Fey Printing

What the Judges Said – With Neenah, this printer has created an invitation to challenge your print design creativity and imagination. This Campaign is an innovative marriage of biodegradable paper and inks that serves as a solution for “green” challenges.  Each of the three books is equally impeccable.  This is a perfect mix of business colliding with nature – and the environment wins! We believe this collection should be front and center in everyone’s print library.

2016 GRAPHICS EXCELLENCE AWARDS
BEST OF ILLINOIS

Haapanen Brothers

What the Judges Said – This presentation takes every shade of the magnificent rainbows of Bali and captures it in maybe the most stylish produced piece in the competition. A digital martini of island imagery, blended with die cutting of geographical shapes, and highlighting stunning sunsets with fantastic print.  The hand stitched bindery is the finishing touch. Brilliant!

2016 GRAPHICS EXCELLENCE AWARDS
BEST OF INDIANA

Mossberg & Company

What the Judges Said – What a great companion piece for sales professionals as they present to and develop relationships with both future and current customers! Soft touch aqueous on each page creates an ideal introduction to all the functions of complex ventilation issues. This showcases outstanding design and engineering of a printed piece – a significant amount of information condensed into a practical, usable display of products.  This represents one of the best designed pieces within the competition.

2016 GRAPHICS EXCELLENCE AWARDS
BEST OF WISCONSIN

The Fox Company

What the Judges Said – The title of this piece is very appropriately ‘25 Years’ and it is a timeline tracing the growth of a design firm that evolved simultaneously with the urban landscape that helped it achieve maturity. The Fox Company has crafted a dynamic visual presentation that navigates through Chicago over the span of 25 years. It captures Chicago through its inks, pictures, processes, creative design and most importantly – its imagination.  Unbelievably well done and presented.
