Operations Manager

Duties and Responsibilities


·         Must be knowledgeable of production processes, operational structure, and company culture.

·         Must have the skills to provide a suitable team environment while managing difficult and various personalities.

·         Need to understand general software and be able to work with several software functions, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.

·         Work with reporting managers: Bindery, Press, & Shipping to organize and formulate plans for operation.

·         Provide weekly production reports for press and bindery machines along with on-time delivery.

·         Hold weekly meetings with direct reports to discuss critical issues as well as any other needed material.

·         Lead weekly production meeting with MIS software reports to schedule and negotiate movement and scheduling of jobs with CSR team.

·         Approve or reject product nonconformity issues while tasking managers for a resolution proposal.

·         Be able to suggest and manage continuous improvement initiatives.

·         Manage production related purchases within spending limits assigned.

·         Review, dispute and/or approve vendor bills related to the production expenses linked to direct report purchases.

·         Recommend purchases and upgrades of needed equipment and material.

·         Critique production processes with bottlenecks and challenges while working with personnel to resolve.

·         Annually evaluate direct reports.


·         Manage safety program within organization.

·         Work with outside vendor of choice to make sure proper paperwork is retained and filed.

·         Must make sure employees are following OSHA/IOSHA and Indiana Fire codes while performing their jobs.

·         Responsible for making sure reporting employees are preforming their jobs safely while maintaining their equipment and workspace.

Requires a minimum of 5 – 7 years relevant manufacturing experience
·         Solid understanding of printing and finishing is preferred
