Compensation: Standard hours will vary with Salary Starting at $75,000
The Senior Systems Administrator serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department. The Senior Systems Administrator oversees vendor implementations, network/system notifications and system recurring tasks.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.
Oversee helpdesk requests on biweekly rotation
Provide technical support to local and remote users
Perform general workstation configuration, maintenance, relocation and troubleshooting
Maintain accurate and up to date hardware and license inventory
Perform custom application installations, configurations and upgrades
Configure printing and troubleshoot printing problems
Helps install local area network cabling systems and equipment such as network interface cards and switches
Develop and document procedures to ensure efficient, effective service to all users
Assist with server support
Partake in rotation of after-hours support
Other duties as required
Bachelor’s degree – 5 years’ experience in a Senior Systems Administration role or 10 years’ experience in a Systems Administration role
Linux Server Administration
Windows Server 2012/2016 Administration
Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS
Linux Apache and Tomcat
Backup and disaster recovery solutions
Networking – routing, subnets, UDP, TCP, IP and VLANs
The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and to reason analytically is required
Effective verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in writing technical specifications are required
Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
Strong team player
Ability to work independently and within teams
Understanding of or experience supporting .NET applications (Preferred)
Cisco CCNA certification (Preferred)
Identity Services (Preferred)
Endpoint Security (Preferred)
Regulatory compliance (Preferred)
Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to 90% of daily activity.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment.
Limited movement throughout an office/manufacturing environment.
