As an S. Walter Packaging Group Company, LPI provides: Offset printing, Foil Stamping, Embossing, Digital Enhancement, Die Cutting, Folding and Gluing, Rigid Box manufacturing, and Fulfillment. This is an On-Site position at our New Berlin, WI facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform daily quality checks on the shop floor to ensure product compliance with customer and company standards.
- Inspect materials and finished products at various stages of production, including print, die-cutting, gluing, and fulfillment.
- Document and communicate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Support press approvals, color standards, and first-piece inspections.
- Track, document, and trend quality issues using real-time data from the production floor.
- Maintain calibration of inspection equipment and tools.
- Train production team members on quality standards and procedures.
- Assist in writing and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
- Collaborate with production, design, and customer service to ensure quality expectations are met.
- Help prepare for customer audits and internal quality reviews.
- Become a SQF Practitioner and lead our SQF Program and food packaging safety compliance.
Qualifications
We are seeking a proactive, detail-driven Quality Lead to oversee and support quality operations within our print, packaging, and fulfillment facility. This is a hands-on role on the shop floor, focused on ensuring product quality, investigating issues, writing SOPs, and supporting compliance efforts—especially in food-safe environments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in print, finishing, and fulfillment, along with knowledge of SQF, GMPs, and FDA requirements for food packaging.
- Solid understanding of printing, finishing (die-cutting, gluing), and fulfillment operations.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, print proofs, and job tickets.
- Demonstrated experience writing SOPs and maintaining documentation.
- Familiarity with quality tools and techniques (e.g., root cause analysis, CAPA, 5 Whys).
- Comfortable working independently and on the production floor in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized, data-driven, and solutions-focused
- Bonus: Knowledge of SQF standards, FDA food packaging regulations, or GMP.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of quality experience in a print and packaging manufacturing environment.
- SQF Practitioner Certification or experience managing SQF programs
- GMP / HACCP certification or experience in food-safe environments
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS)
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma practices, or other quality improvement methodologies.
