JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the electronic collection, preflight, and processing of digital print files. May include formatting and proofing electronic text and images submitted by designers and clients into finished pages that can be output on the KM1-E machine.
· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and conducts self in accordance with core values.
· Perform duties as assigned by Supervisor.
· Understand machine capabilities to program, adjust and achieve optimum print quality.
· Perform a preflight check of electronic materials and identify any problems before readying the job for output.
· Correct or note any font/text flow problems, curving, bleed, trapping, and sizing issues.
· Provide feedback to supervisor, Customer Service or Graphic Designer regarding quality of electronic materials provided and any identified concerns.
· Examine job orders to determine quantities to be printed, stock specifications, or special output instructions.
· Create and upload electronic files to the RIP system and complete a quality check of the pages.
· Proficiently use and manipulate computer software in a prepress/digital press environment having to do with digital production control, page imposition, production queues and output.
· Perform routine maintenance.
· Collect and inspect random samples during digital output to identify any necessary adjustments.
· Track stock and machine consumables and request replacement materials be ordered as needed.
· Perform machine adjustments accurately, efficiently and according to procedures.
